The Payment tab allows users to quickly make payments to Households and allocate portions of the payment to different accounts under the Household. Note: User must have permission to edit roles to access Payment tab.

Step-By-Step Guide to

Setting Access to Payment Tab
  1. Click the User Dropdown menu icon.
  2. Click the "Users" option from the dropdown. This will take you to the "Users" tab, which is accompanied by the "Role Management" and "My Profile" tab.                                                                                                  Image Removed
  3. Click on the "Role Management" tab, then click on your account's role. This will take you to the "Role Detail" page where you are able to control what permissions your account does and does not have.Image Removed
  4. Once you are on the "Role Detail" page, Click on the "Dashboards" link. This will take you to the Dashboards options page, where you are given an option to select which features you would like to appear on your Dashboard.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Image Removed
  5. Once you are on the "Dashboards" link under the "Role Management" tab, click the box that is labeled "Intake Payment." This will give you the Payment tab on your dashboard.                       Image Removed
  6. Now, head to the HDS Doorways Dashboard, this can be accomplished by clicking the "HDS Doorways" logo at the top-left of the screen.                              Image Removed
  7. If you see the picture below, then you have successfully added "Payment Dashboard" to you account and you are ready to send payments for a Household with ease and convenience.                  Image Removed

Step-By-Step Guide to Making a Payment Through the Payment Tab

  1. Click the "HDS Doorways" logo to ensure you are on the "Payment Dashboard" and "Payment" tab.
  2. Fill out boxes with information.
  3. After clicking "Post Payment", you will be directed to the "Generate Output" modal where you will be able to choose a template for your receipt. Note: Receipt - Default Transaction Receipt has the option to add a user comment to the receipt.
  4. After choosing a Receipt Template, the Generate Report Wizard page will create a receipt and give you the option to download or print the receipt. Once you have downloaded or printed the receipt, click the "Done" button.                     
  5. Success! You have successfully and seamlessly made a payment to a Household and generated a receipt for this transaction.












A. Location - Set the payment category(Main, Main Office, Payroll, Satellite Office) where this payment will be placed.

B. Household - Search for the Head of the Household by Name. 

C. Payment Type - Set the payment type(Cash, Check, Credit Card, or Money Order) in which the payment was received. 

D. Amount - Insert the amount that is being paid by the household.

E. Check or MO No. (Optional) - Insert the Check or Money Order Number.

F. Add Another Payment - Click this icon if you would like to add another form of payment.

G. Auto Distribute Payment - Checking this box will automatically allocate the payment to which ever account has a negative balance. If the payment is greater than all of the negative account balances combined, then the remaining amount will be added to the household's Accounts Receivable as a positive balance.

H. Account - This is the account that the household is paying to. You can change the account by clicking the "Change Account" link.

I. Payment Distribution - In this section you are able to see all of the Household's accounts and balances of each account, you will also be able to allocate portions of the payment to certain accounts(Accounts Receivable, Bad Debt, Per Deposit, and Security Deposit). 

J. Post Payment - Once you are done filling out all of the required boxes, click this button to take you to the next step.
