There are a few aspects concerning rent you may want to familiarize yourself when using the HDS Doorways application.
Rent Preview
The rent preview appears in The Assignment Process and The Move-In Process. This widget displays the rent using the rent calculation set up for the housing authority, unless a fixed rent applies to an individual tenant or applicant.

Auto-Posting of Rent
Rent is automatically posted on the 1st of every month. This balance is posted to every households Tenant Accounts Receivable, found in the Tenant Ledger.

Pro-Rating Rent
If the move-in date is any day after the 1st of the month, rent is calculated including only the remaining days of the month. This option is selected in The Assignment Process and The Move-In Process.
