Assigning, unassigning moving in, and moving out a household to/from a unit are different actions in the Doorways app that allow a user to control/update the status of a household as well as the specified unit.
Assigning a unit to a household removes that unit from the unit vacancy report and allows the household to be easily moved in when the time comes.

Moving In a household to a unit in HDS Doorways changes a unit’s status to ‘Occupied’ and a household’s status to ‘Tenant’.
Moving Out a household from a unit changes a units status back to 'Vacant' and removes the 'Tenant' status from the household.
