Transfers
Transferring a credit balance to another account within a households list of accounts can be done with ease in the Doorways app. Through the Transfers wizard, similar to the steps in the payment and/or charge wizards, you can quickly move funds between a households HDS ledger accounts.
Step-by-Step Guide to Transferring Funds from the Tenant Ledger:
1. From the households tenant ledger page, click the "Transfer" button.
2. The Transfer wizard will then run, fill in the required fields:
A. From Account - Select the account that the funds will be moved from.
B. To Account - Select the tenants account that the funds will go to.
C. Post on Date - The date you would like the transfer to be reflected in the Tenant Ledger.
D. Transfer Amount - Enter the dollar amount of funds that will be transferred between the two accounts.
E. Note (Optional) - Enter a comment or note that will appear in the "description" field of the adjustment.
F. Cancel Button - Click this button to cancel the fund transfer.
G. Submit Transfer Button - Click this button to confirm the transfer, and you will be redirected to the tenant ledger.
3. Success! A new payment and a new charge will appear in the households tenant ledger. The Payment will be applies to the "To Account" and the charge will be posted to the "From Account".
